I'll upload the concepts and silhouettes in my next post, but this focuses on a digital painting I did in about an hour and a half/45 minutes roughly. I gave myself 2 hours but I brought it to about where I wanted to bring it in a little less time.
There is a youtube channel called "FZDSCHOOL" which gives tutorial for rendering concept work and just various techniques, and I was facinated when a professor showed it and it set off light bulbs and I decided to try the technique which I wasn't familiar with, so I decided to try to render my creation in a realistic way, even though for the work of my webcomic, which this design is doubling for, it will not be done in a realistic style.
this is a resize, original is on 11 x 17, which I may print this out at kinkos when I print my project for background and layout, which this is also being used for. I'll have the specifics on the design itself in my next post. Without further ado, the creation itself!
For learning new techniques and tricks (and photoshop keyboard shortcuts) in my first try at this, I'm very pleased with it. I'll definately be testing this out again and jumping back and forth between my favorite program, Paint Tool Sai, and Photoshop to try to experiment with different ways to render these digi-paintings.

"Cosmic Love"
Hi it's 7 am and I'm incoherent and this is what happens when you listen to "Cosmic love" by Florence and the Machine
Unfinished, but roughly 4 hours in Paint Tool Sai. An Original Character that is just a side character, nothing fancy but I've subconsciously related her to a phoenix due to the situation she was in. (Due to it being somewhat related to Chinese mythology with the phoenix and the dragon , the soul mate thing due to another character being associated to a dragon, but however it wasn't the case here). Also contains two detail shots.
Goodnight for now

Masquerade Mask Concept Design and Color Test
I wanted to design a mask that I need to wear to a masquerade ball event I'm attending while on a vacation for a few days immediately after school ends. I'm using a dress which is black but with a small silver buckle as an accent, so I wanted the mask to match it. Also I wanted my mask to be wolf themed, since I use a black wolf to represent myself (Hence the name in the URL: Lupita is a diminutive form of Spanish for "little wolf") to help me stand out a little bit in the crowd, however i didn't want to make a complete animal head to wear. I wanted to incorporate some of the feathers and details that many beautiful masks have, but not lose the 'essence' of the wolf mask. Overall I like the final result and I am excited to work on the actual peice.
